AWB reorganisation: teams and locations benefit from new partner structure

Expansion of the AWB export control, VAT and customs teams

The partner structures of the AWB companies are being structurally expanded, favoured by a reorganisation of the professional code of conduct, and show the promotion of long-standing employees at the AWB offices. As part of the AWB reorganisation, AWB is appointing and promoting two long-standing and experienced employees to new equity partners as of 1 April 2023: Lawyer Britta Lüger will expand her activities in the area of VAT as an equity partner. In addition, tax consultant Manuel Sieben will join the customs team as an equity partner.

Three new equity partners from AWB's own management team

Founding partner Prof Dr Hans-Michael Wolffgang on AWB's reorganisation: ‘The reorganisation with three of our experienced partners shows that we value the personal relationship of trust within AWB. We naturally support our own long-standing colleagues and look forward to continuing our good cooperation with them and to challenging mandates.’

The selection of the new equity partners represents the range of advisory services offered by the AWB companies and reflects the company's comprehensive expertise. The new equity partners bring with them many years of experience in the areas of European customs and foreign trade law as well as national and international VAT law in the operational management of mandates at AWB.

Manuel Sieben has been working for AWB Steuerberatungsgesellschaft mbH in various functions since 2011 and advises clients on all customs law issues. The specialist consultant for customs and excise duties, Diplom-Finanzwirt (FH) and Master of Customs Administration (‘MCA’) is also a former customs official.

Britta Lüger has been with AWB Law GmbH since 2015. Previously, she worked in the Indirect Tax department of international auditing firms. Her main areas of expertise include national and international VAT law and national procedural law.

On 1 April 2023, tax consultant Stefanie Schick will also join the teams at the Munich office. Stefanie Schick has professional experience in the fields of foreign trade law, customs and export control. Most recently, she was a Senior Manager in the Customs & Trade department at KPMG Germany.

The structural improvements will not result in any changes to the operational work for the approximately 70 employees of AWB Taw GmbH, AWB Law GmbH and AWB Consulting GmbH. AWB will continue to focus on promoting its own employees and building trust with its clients.
