BIS adds 37 Chinese companies to Entity List

The Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) has added 37 Chinese companies to the Entity List of the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) to protect national security and foreign policy interests.

AWB seminar tip: The current tightening of US export control law and its effects on European companies are also the subject of a newAWA-seminar with Alexandra López-Casero.

According to a BIS-Announcement the following companies have been added:

22 institutions and companies due to their involvement in China's quantum technology and acquisition of U.S.-origin products for military applications that pose a significant threat to U.S. security. In addition, some of these entities are linked to advances in China's nuclear programs or were involved in the supply of controlled goods to Russia following its invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
4 facilities due to the acquisition of U.S.-origin products for Chinese military unmanned aerial systems
11 facilities due to their involvement in China's high-altitude balloon program, which raises significant safety concerns.
